"If your soul is on fire to serve in a way that scares you to death. And you don't feel worthy, ready, able. And the burning will not leave you alone. Congratulations. You have your calling. Bless you. Your life is not for you. It is for the world. This is an ancestral arrangement. You've already been promised as an offering. If you can follow your heart and spirit, even through fear, not only can you fulfill your own soul and harvest a profound peace, you can also be medicine for all living things. All your relations.”
Who am I..
I share the above poem by Jaiya John because I feel it completely captures who I am, the work I do, and the overall journey of my life..
I’m a first-generation American, born to Portuguese immigrants, that was raised in New Jersey. As a Sagittarius, I have an insatiable curiosity & adventurer’s spirit. These traits initially lead me down a path in search for a purposeful life. At 22, fresh out of Monmouth University with a degree in Psychology, I felt the call to go out into the world—grow a long beard, get lost in new places, and figure out what I truly wanted from life.
Living in Fiji (2014) or 6-months
Wherever I went, I found myself drawn to the local communities, forming connections, volunteering, being of service, and immersing myself in their way of life. It was great having these experiences, however I had a deeper desire to share my adventures so I invited my best friends to vacation with me in Fiji—my first organized group adventure. That was the birth trip to an organization I envisioned which would guide travelers on worldwide experiences while also participating on volunteer projects during the vacation. The intention was to make a positive impact at schools, shelters, or local communities while also enjoying the adventures the country had to offer.
A few years into guiding these life-changing experiences, meeting my wife along the way, we registered as 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization called World Travelers Association. It was an amazing chapter of my life growing this community of travelers, seeing the world, and traveling for a purpose!
In 2019, after years of nomadic travel, I was tired. I was searching for something to help me grow and evolve that didn’t involve suitcases or airlines. At that time I also started seeing a therapist who recommended a graduate program that instantly called to my soul. My wife and I settled in my mother country of Portugal, and I simultaneously began graduate studies. It was an incredible 3 years that enhanced my abilities to help others transform. I now hold a Master’s of Science (MSc) in Consciousness, Spirituality, and Transpersonal Psychology with a specialization in Psychedelic Integration & Transformation (<—Read my publication). After completing my degree, I started a private practice supporting clients through their psychedelic exploration, inner work, and overall healing path.
Presently, I’m on a PhD route with an extraordinary program called Ecstatic Mysticism (AWE) which will further develop my skill set in Integrative Psychotherapy (Gestalt), Psychedelic Medicine, and Indigenous Wisdom/Entheogenic Practices. I’m honored to be part of this unique program which is bringing me all over the world to learn and experience from indigenous communities who have been using these medicines for millennia . It’s a privilege to be part of AWE, and it’s my commitment to share the journey with each of my clients.
